The Grove Music label was founded in 1977 in the UK by R.Plummer, Michael Campbell and King Sounds,
in association with Vivian "Yabby You" Jackson... The label was prolific until 1979
then, the label continued under license by Grove Music
to edit under the name of "Grove Muzik" for Island Records...
It is hard to determine, if the Island association was regular or not...
Yabby You considered some Island issues as "unauthorized copies",
(like the Jah Jah Way Lp for example)...
This label discography tries to be as complete as possible;
a lot of pictures were not found, and some catalog numbers are missing...
Most of all tracks were laid at Channel One Recording Studios,
(except for the Michael Campbell and Aswad productions : recorded and mixed in London)
mainly mixed at King Tubby's by Tubby or Jammy.
The Musicians which are backing for the Grove Music label are following :
(Aswad for most of the UK sessions)
-Drums : Sly Dunbar
-Bass : Robbie Shakespeare
-Rythm Guitar : Albert Griffiths, Alrick Forbes
-Lead Guitar : Earl Chinna Smith, Clinton Ferron
-Piano : Bernard Harvey Touter
-Organ : Ansell Collins
-Percussion : Scully
-Saxophone : Tommy Mc Cook
